Optiom is born in British Columbia.
Optiom is founded as a specialty insurance provider with a simple idea: standard auto insurance doesn’t fully replace a car when it’s written off. We decided to close that gap for Canadian drivers.
Expanding east across Canada.
Our operations expand eastward and our headquarters move to Calgary, Alberta. We become a Coverholder at Lloyd’s of London and extend coverage to Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
Flexible payments and a broader protection suite.
Bamboo Premium Financing launches to make premiums more accessible through monthly payments. Our Dealer Suite expands to include GAP, Mechanical Breakdown Protection, Tire & Rim, and Appearance Protection.
